Patrik Francis Imanjama Tanzanian, born 1959

Patrik Francis Imanjama was born 1959 in Zanzibar. Imanjama took a painting course at the Goethe Institut and the Numba ya Sanaa in Dar es Salaam. Encouraged by this experience and realising he wanted to be an artist, he later joined the Dar es Salaam Art and Craft Centre. In 1982, he studied various printmaking techniques including etching and went on develop these skills during various summer Academy programmes in Salzburg, Austria from 1986 – 1996. He has exhibited his work in Austria, Germany and Tanzania with a major exhibition at the National Museum of Dar es Salaam.
